Replacement of the NGARD purification pack
To install a new NGARD pack, please proceed as follows:
Put the System into "STANDBY" mode by pressing "OPERATE/STANDBY" button for two seconds. Do not turn off the eletrical power.
Open the point-of use valve for a few seconds to depressurize the System.
Lift up the pack adapter cap.
Remove the metal locking clip from the metal guide pin.
Remove the NGARD pack from the System.
Remove the two blue protective caps on the new NGARD pack .Wet the two 0-rings on the NGARD with a few drops of pure water.
Push the NGARD so that the pack adapter metal rod goes through the hole at the top ofthe NGARD.
Lift the NGARD slightly and push the bottom of it into the small opening on the System.
Push the top ofthe NGARD towards the System until it is secure.
Lock the NGARD in place with the metal locking clip on the end of the metal guide pin.
Bring the adapter cap down to its lowest position so that it covers the top of the NGARD.

Replacement of the NQTMPK Ultrapure
Cartridge

Please check that the NGARD has been replaced. The NGARD is only used on Milli-Q systems equipped with a pack adapter.

To install a new NQTMPK cartridge, please proceed as follows:
Put the Milli-Q System into STANDBY mode by pressing the OPERaTE  STANDBY button for two  seconds. Do not turn off the electr. power.
Open the point-of-use valve for a few seconds to depressurize the system. Then move the trigger  back to dose the valve.
Open the blue door on the front ofthe Milli-Q by pressing the two latches on the right side ofthe  door.
Pull out the NQTMPK cartridge.
Remove the two blue protective caps on the new NQTMPK cartridge. Wet the two rubber 0-rings  on the NQTMPK cartridge with a few drops of pure water.
Install the new NQTMPK cartridge (IMPORTANT the Lot number label should stay at the bottom) and push it in as far as it will go. The message "Cartridge out"  should disappear from the display.
Close the front door firmly. lt is necessary for both latches to snap shut securely, to maintain the  cartridge inside the system.
Remove the venting cap from the N02FILT and turn the filter counter-clockwise to unscrew it from the female thread on the gun.
Screw the adapter fitting onto the point-of-use then connect the tubing to the fitting and direct it to the drain.
Note: Both adapter fitting and tubing are delivered with the system for initial start-up.
Put the Milli-Q into PRE-OPERATE mode by pressing the OPERATE / STANDBY button for two seconds.
Start the automatic AIR PURGE cycle by moving the gun trigger down.
At the end of the 5-minute AIR PURGE cycle, the system goes automatically into STANDBY mode. Move the trigger back to dose the point-of-use valve and put the system into PRE-OPERATE mode.
Note: The Air Purge cycle ensures that the cartridges are fully rinsed. The A10 models will perform an additional one-hour TOC rinsing
Leave the system in PRE-OPERATE mode overnight to fully hydrate the ion-exchange resin inside the cartridges.
Next morning, dispense 5 liters of water from the system by bringing the point-of-use trigger forward.
Disconnect the tubing from the point-of-use adapter fitting then unscrew the adapter fitting from the point-of-use.
Proceed to the installation of a new N02FILT  0,2 Micron final filter where required.

Replacement of the N02FILT  0,2 Micron  Final Filter (If required)

Note: Before installing the point-of-use final filter, make sure that:
The NGARD and NQTMPK cartridges have been replaced and allowed to become fully hydrated
5 liters of water have been dispensed after overnight recirculation
All air trapped in the cartridges has been purged.
To install a new N02FILT final filter, please proceed as follows:
1. Make sure the system is in PRE-OPERATE mode and the point-of-use trigger is in the closed  (upright) position.
2. Remove the venting cap from the new N02FILT.

1. Screw the N02FILT onto the point-of-use thread. Turn it a maximum of 2-3 times.
   
2. Remove the venting cap on the N02FILT but do not tighten it onto the filter.
