Millipore ELIX WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM
The Elix range combines reverse osmosis (RO)
with Millipore's patented Electrodeionisation
(EDI) technology to produce consistently pure
analytical-grade water from potable water.
Purified water produced by the Elix system meets
or exceeds ASTM, CAP, ISO3696, BS3978 and
NCCLS Type II water specifications. It can be used
in applications where distilled or deionised water
is currently used, such as:
Microbiological media preparation
Buffer preparation
Chemical/biochemical reagent preparation
Hydroponics
Final rinsing of glassware
Feed to other laboratory equipment, such as
stability testing chambers, hydrogen gas
generators, weathering test equipment,
humidifiers & autoclaves
Elix systems combine three purification stages into one compact unit
Primary purification by the Progard pre-treatment pack removes
chlorine and particles from tap water, and prevents RO membrane
scaling in hard water areas.
Secondary purification by a high recovery reverse osmosis unit
removes 95-99% of inorganic ions and 99% of dissolved organics (>100
Daltons), bacteria and particles. It also minimises reject water flow by
recycling a portion to the RO membrane feed water stream.
Final purification by EDI results in product water of analytical-grade
purity.
